The Follow Shot
The Follow Shot
The follow shot is another excellent weapon to add to your pool game arsenal. This is when your cue ball stops and then follows the object ball in the same direction.
How To Perform The Follow Shot
To properly perform this shot, you must hit the cue ball with topspin that carries sufficient momentum to follow the object ball. The more power you put into the shot, the more topspin you will get, so how do you create top spin? It is recommended that players try to hit the cue ball about 1-1/12 cue tip distances above the center of the ball, anything higher will generally lead to a miscue.
Common Mistakes
Common mistakes generally lead to pocketing of the cue ball. Generally when a player puts too much power into their shot, their cue balls will have too much topspin and actually follow the object ball into the pocket, leading to a scratch. So be sure to practice and adjust your stroke accordingly.
